What work do you get involved in on a day to day basis?
As I work in the Transaction Advisory Services for financial organizations, I advise and consult our clients on a daily basis, while analysing and valuating corporations to determine whether the financial data set is accurate, in order to ensure a profitable outcome. By specifying that statement that would mean mainly contributing within Buy-Side and Sell-Side Due Diligence.
How has EY played a role in your long-term career goals?
EY is a globally active company that gives me the opportunity to grow constantly on a professional as well as on a personal basis, while encouraging me to exceed my limits and outperform on every task I accomplish. This is exactly what I need in order to achieve my professional goals.
Since joining us, what has been your biggest achievement to date?
At my very first assignment within my department, I had the opportunity to be in charge of the project coordination of an international project (Due Diligence) which involved the collaboration of colleagues and expertise of various countries and service lines. Beyond the analysis that I have done to accomplish a successful result, I was able to broaden my knowledge and apply it purposefully.
Our client was so pleased with the final result, that our team was nominated to be their exclusive advisors whenever services from a big four company is necessary. Moreover, the Partners and Senior Managers from abroad recognized and still acknowledge my involvement and input within the project.
The most rewarding aspect is when your Manager, Partner and the client let you know that your contribution during the project has been exceptional and your work is so appreciated that the client wants you to continue working with EY on further projects.
How are you building a better working world at EY?
When it comes to building a better working world, it has to be kept in mind, that the outcome should be sustainable and valuable. My daily contribution on BBWW is based on advising clients with suitable suggestions helping them to outperform in the market and be responsible-minded in all working decisions they take. Whenever my team and I were able to achieve that, we know that we were able to contribute to the purpose of building a better working world.
What do you enjoy most about working in Financial Services?
As our clients mostly include banks, asset managers and insurances are non-boarder related, we have the opportunity to work with globally active enterprises. This means that you could travel a lot, also international wise and interact with different culture. As we have the advantage that we work with our colleagues around the world in order to meet client expectations, I personally benefit from cross-border expertise which I than can use in further engagements. Hence, it’s a combination of meeting colleagues around the globe and interact with clients that might have different expectations depending where our service is needed.
What advice would you give to anyone applying to EY?
If you really want to work in a challenging and exciting business environment, be yourself in order to convince your counterparty why you are the right fit for the job, as we a constantly looking for individuals that make our team unique and complete.
