Fredrik Stigerud is a Partner within the FSO Advisory services team in our Stockholm office. As a Nordic talent leader  we follow him in his journey to where he is now at EY.

Fredrik's EY road to success

Tell us a bit more about yourself.

I have several different roles at EY: I’m a Partner in our Advisory Services practice, based in the Stockholm office, where I’m working with our clients across the Nordics. I’m also the Sector Leader for Wealth and Asset Management (“WAM”) in the Nordics. Recently, I have also taken on the role as Nordic Talent Leader, which means that I’m working with our Talent/People team on driving the people agenda across the Nordics. Besides work I enjoy spending time with my wife and two daughters. We enjoy travelling, both to winter destinations (skiing), but also going to warmer destinations.

Why did you choose EY?

I joined EY for three main reasons: the people, the entrepreneurial mindset and the global reach. This is also the reason why I’ve stayed for more than 13 years.

What do you like most about your role?

Working on complex issues with our clients is what I enjoy the most. It requires problem solving skills, creative thinking and being able to work collectively as part of a team.

Tell us more about the training programs at EY.

There are numerous training programs at all levels. For the new joiners at graduate level there is an intensive training period that lasts for the first couple of years. As you progress in your career the trainings become more specialized and specific for the career path that you are taking. Often training programs are done in a European setting, with colleagues from many different countries. The network you create in the trainings becomes very important and valuable in client work afterwards.

Tell us more about the culture at EY.

There are many social activities in our offices that create a strong network and teaming among colleagues. For example, we have monthly pubs, summer and Christmas parties in the Stockholm office, as well as several sport teams that you can join. I dare to say that I’ve made friends for life with the people I’ve worked with at EY.
